Target User Group

Freshman college students, who live on campus (not in their parents houses, or who travel on the weekends to go to their parents houses). This is because the eating habits of students who live on their own is usually different from students who go back to their parents houses, They eat in the dorms cafes, or at nearby restaurants. Also they tend to eat in groups once they form friends.

Problem Description

The problem here is gaining the 15 freshman pounds, some students learn how to lose pounds after they have been gained, but some don't and it might put them on the obesity level which has high risks, like diabetes, heart problems, etc.. The goal is to teach them how to count their daily calories intake and to balance their proteins, fats, carbs, etc... (also note that this is not a substitute for exercise, but it is definitely a good step towards a healthy life style)

Problem Context and Forces

What might influence the problem solution are:

1 - location school cafeterias, type of restaurants: open buffet, indian, greek, or american food, and so on.

2- Amount of people eating in a group This is because you can see more appealing types of food which will entice you to eat more, Usually the whole group is quite educated and so as the user (person playing the game), but this doesn't mean that they will always do the right choice when choosing the kind of food or the amounts. usually students eat heavy dinner, in terms of amount and type, and they snack during the day.

as a solution for this I only found this website, but it isn't a game, you have to put each component one at a time to get the total calories, or if the whole recipe exists you can get the total calories

Solution Sketch

the program by asking the user to go with his/her friends in the imaginary "software" program to eat lunch together, then the user will start at the buffet with many options (pictures of different kinds of food) they can drag the food onto their plates, once they sit on the table and click on finish eating the calorie count will pop up over the different types of food that has been chosen, and will show the calorie count for the whole day so far, if they wish they can choose which restaurants to eat at and what type of food will be at the restaurant, but every time they choose a location a very good looking, mouth watering plates or choices should be on displayed.

The goal is to get to the ultimate calorie number as specified for non-athletes with a small error range.
